Hi everyone! Working at the Miss Asian America pageant was so fun. Here are a few pictures of my traincase after I set everything up.
I was there for about 8 hours and got to watch the show from the side of the stage. I was so tired by the time I got home. I went to sleep at 3am and had work at 9 am the next day. I have never been this exhausted at any of my previous jobs, even when I was working as a hostess, receptionist, and going to school full-time. I guess it just needs some getting used to.
My friend, who is getting her cosmetology/hair license soon, bleached my hair last week. It turned out a little more yellow than I expected and though I didn't like it at first, it grew on me. Surprisingly, my hair is still in very good condition. I thought it would be fried by now, but it doesn't feel much different at all. I love having light hair. I wish I was born with light hair. All you natural blondes, consider yourselves sooo lucky, since I ALWAYS see blonde haired girls with black roots growing in. ;) At Lancome now, I always get compliments that I look like a Barbie doll since I always have fun shades of eyeshadow on paired with a bright pink lipstick. I think after the blonde I will go a little darker into a honey brown shade. My roots are already growing in and I know it will be such a hassle to maintain the blonde, not to mention the outrageous cost from touching up every few weeks. I heard that many people on Youtube have been leaving negative comments about my new hair. This is the reason why I got sick of Youtube. Whether I change my hair color, my nail color, my eyeshadow color, my contact color, the way I dress, the way I decorate my room, people are always going to talk shit. And if I don't change anything at all, they will FIND something to pick at. Like my voice, my teeth, how many times I blink, etc. It's lame. I bet if I met these people in the streets, they wouldn't say one bad thing to my face. All these shit-talking low-lives sit behind a computer hating on other people because they know they can get away with saying anything over the Internet. And those people NEVER have a picture of themselves. HAH! How surprising. It's sad how pathetic some people are. I never have anything bad to say about anyone. It's everyone's own right to choose who they want to be, so leave it at that. Makes me think twice about making any more videos if all I'm doing is sending people an open invitation to talk mad shit about me. Oh, and by the way, don't be surprised to hear me cuss. I'm super sweet to everybody who's sweet to me, but if you're going to be a jerk, I won't put on a fake smile and pretend to be nice. That's who I am, and I'm never going to change.
Sorry. I just had to rant on behalf of everybody who has been attacked/harassed with threats and rude comments.
Oh, and here are some recent pictures. :)
Don't Alfie and I match now? =] (He's sick by the way. He has a bladder infection, and I had to take him to the vet the other week. The bill was over 200 dollars. I am currently giving him medicine that smells and looks like Pepto Bismol.)
I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by a model scout. They were interested in working with me and having me come do a photo shoot. However, I took a look at their website and the type of modeling looked a bit too scandalous for me. It looked like lingerie modeling, It's okay, I'll pass. :)

Disney, Universal, OC, Long Beach
Hi girls! I had such a great trip down in LA. I stayed for 5 days and got to go to Universal Studios, Disneyland, shopping in Orange County, and clubbin' in Long Beach. It was nice to get away and relax. I came back and started work the next day. It's been busy at Lancome since gift time is coming up and we've been preparing for that. Anyway, here are some pictures from my trip!
Disneyland
Our hotel was literally across the street!
We went on the Indiana Jones ride twice.
This is the new Finding Nemo ride that we waited almost 2 hours in line for! I didn't think it was worth the wait...
My boyfriend and his cousins. (He's the last one on the right.)
View of Disney fireworks every night from our hotel.
Universal Studios
On the Universal Tour
My favorite show!
Back to the Future car
Fast & the Furious Tokyo Drift staged scene
Jaws
Dr's Seuss's the Grinch movie. All of that was made of styrofoam!
Set of Alfred Hitchcock's movie Psycho.
At a bar.
Our room.
Jacuzzi at the Hilton
I wish I took more pictures. I had so much fun at Disneyland, not so much Universal. Space Mountain is the best ride ever! I'm trying to save up to go to Disneyworld soon. I'll always love Disney; it really is one of the happiest places on Earth! :D

News
Just to let you know, if you are reading this, I love you! =] Thanks for taking the time out to come out here to my blog that I rarely update and use to talk about my boring life. :P It really means a lot to me to know I have such loyal subscribers. Some of you are such sweethearts that I wish I could meet in person. :)
Anyway, today I got a job! I am officially an employee of LANCOME! It's going to be so fun working behind a makeup counter. I've always wanted to. I'm using this job as experience, since it is my first makeup job. I hope that I will actually LIKE going to work now, and not dread it as with my previous jobs. But I don't get enough hours at Lancome, so I am on the lookout for a second job. With gas and everything so expensive nowadays, one job won't be enough for me to pay for rent, groceries, gas, not to mention makeup! It's going to suck working 2 jobs again. I did it in the past while going to school and it was NOT fun. I was so stressed out but I had to do it. Times are hard now, so you gotta do what you gotta do.
When I was in training at the Lancome counter, I got to take home a trial size foundation of the Teint Idole liquid foundation. I've never found a liquid foundation that will stay on my oily face all day long until I tried this foundation. It is super smooth and a little goes a long way. Gives great medium coverage. Sometimes I will still apply my Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup over it to set my foundation, but most of the time I just wear it by itself and it stays on great. It's a little pricey ($38), but Lancome is offering free 10-day trial sizes of it to take home, so stop by any Lancome counter and ask them about it. They will color-match you and give you a free trial size that you can use for 10 days. =] Here's a picture of what it looks like.
I will be in L.A. next week, from July 17 to the 21st! During that time, I will be visiting Disneyland, Universal Studios, and all the fun stuff. I can't wait. I love Socal weather... HOT & HUMID!
I also got accepted for Partner on Youtube today! Yay! I've always wanted a customized banner. :)
I will have more product review videos soon, from Beautychoice.com & Mary Kay cosmetics!
Thanks for reading and staying tuned!
Love,
Kat

Fashion Show
Hey ladies! Yesterday, I went to my first fashion show as a makeup artist. It was awesome; I got the opportunity to meet a bunch of great artists, photographers, models, and the designer herself, Monique Zhang. It was at a rich estate in northern California and all proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society. These people were so rich; it was a $100 door donation to get in, and afterwards there was an auction where people were bidding for paintings, tea sets, etc. for over $10,000! It was such a great experience and I got a glimpse of what life as a freelance makeup artist would be.
This is the view of the house when we first came in: (GORGEOUS, right?! The people that live are are probably multi-millionaires. This house was practically 3 stories.)
This is the room that we worked in:
Here are some pictures of my model:
The theme we agreed on was pretty and natural, and she wanted purple eyeshadow so I used Satellite Dreams on her. (You can click on the pictures to enlarge.)
There should be professional photographs as well, but I'm waiting for them to be posted on the website. So until then, I'll talk to you girls later! Have a nice weekend! =]
Love ya!

Sierra comes to visit
My sister is babysitting her friend's cat Sierra. Isn't she such a cutie? She's a little moody though. I think she's just upset that she's not at home. But when she warms up, she is just the cutest thing. =]
Look at that cute fluffy belly and white paws!
Here's another picture of her and Gryffin, my sister's cat.

Tag & Quick Update
Hey there! Sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. Today I made a tutorial but my webcam didn't end up recording it. I was so upset. I wish I had a camcorder or something that is actually reliable. Anyway, I got tagged on "6 men you would date" and tried to do a video on that, but it didn't work either. So I will just post it here. I am actually not into celebrities and I rarely obsess over anyone famous, but if I had to pick a few guys that I think are good looking, I would first choose Wentworth Miller from Prison Break.
He is also in Mariah Carey's video We Belong Together, but I never paid any attention to him until after I got hooked on Prison Break. I think he is gorgeous.
My second choice is Edward Norton. Once I saw American History X, oh boy... He is too hot!
My third choice is Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys.
I've always had a crush on him since I was about 10 years old. His voice just melts me. He also seems so sweet and humble. I have a thing for Southerners. I think Southern accents are just adorable.
That's probably it. I can't think of anymore. But if I do, I will get back to you on it. =]
Anyway, I am super excited because next weekend I will be doing makeup at a fashion show in northen California. It will be my first big event, aside from prom makeup and giving friends makeovers. I will actually be working with models! I'm looking forward to it but nervous at the same time. I will be working with my friend, who does makeup for many events and weddings. I will tell you all how it goes and hopefully I'll have some photos to post, if we're able to take pictures.
I will try to fix my webcam and make videos real soon! Thanks for reading! =]

Update & Haul
Hi girls! I decided to make a blog to keep in touch and to give you all updates on what I've been doing. I know haven't been making any videos lately; I've had guests from out of the country and also my cousin is flying in from Texas tomorrow to visit. I also have job interviews lined up so hopefully I will get back to making videos sometime in the next week!
As for makeup talk, I purchased another Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup ($29), since, to my horror, my current jar spilled all over my carpet the other day and I spent about half an hour vacuuming and scubbing it out of the carpet. Luckily my carpet is a tan color so it didn't stain that much. For those of you who are wondering, my shade is "Nirvana." I have tried all of the shades, from Illusion to Trance, and the color range from this line is a bit tricky since some of the colors are a bit orange. I thought Illusion was my color but it turned out too pale on my skin. Even though Nirvana is a bit orange, it matches my overall skin tone better, since my arms are tan. I tried going back to Bare Escentuals recently but sadly it just CAN'T COMPARE to Urban Decay's mineral makeup! For those of you who like smooth, matte finishes, this is the powder for you.
Since I've been wanting to switch from Mac Select Moisturecover Concealer to something more healthy that won't break me out, I decided to try Stila's Illuminating Concealer, which is also a liquid concealer. Though it's more expensive than Mac's, ($22 USD) it's been working pretty well and I like the coverage better. It goes on smoother and gives my blemishes pretty good coverage. I use it to conceal my under eye circles as well. Let's just hope it won't break me out!
For a while now, I've been trying to find an eyelash curler that will fit my eye shape. I have used Revlon's and Elf's eyelash curlers for the past few years, but my eyes are extremely wide and most eyelash curlers are too curved to fit around my eye socket so the outer lashes on my eyes never curl no matter how I try to angle and move the lash curler around. After reading reviews on makeupalley.com, I decided to buy the two top-rated eyelash curlers out there, the famous Shu Uemura ($19) and Shiseido ($17.50) lash curlers. I don't see much of a difference between the Shiseido and the Revlon lash curler, but the Shu Uemura curler definitely feels sturdy when I'm curling my lashes. However, both of the expensive curlers seem to pinch my eyes and I still can't fully get all of the lashes to curl. I guess it's just a problem I have to deal with. But for now, I'm satisfied with the Shu Uemura curler.
I also purchased new mascara since my Katie B Faux Lash mascara was getting old and clumpy. I decided to try Covergirl's Lashblast mascara ($7) since I was watching Oprah one day and it was one of the top rated mascaras for the summer. I got it in waterproof since my Asian lashes never stay curled if I use just regular mascara. I like the results, but I feel that with this mascara it only lengthens my lashes but doesn't give volume. My lashes looks really long but not thick and voluminous. So it's not the perfect mascara, but I'm sticking with it for now.
Since my Fluidline from Mac is all dried out, I decided to try HIP's cream liner, since it's gotten so much hype on Youtube. I must say it's working pretty well! I actually don't see a difference between the Fluidline and the HIP liner. Although my Fluidline has been dried out for so long (I've been reviving it with Visine % my Fix +), so I probably don't even remember how the Fluidline felt when it was still good. But I would definitely recommend the HIP liner, since it's cheaper ($11) than Mac's Fluidline, and works just as great! However, I wouldn't recommend using the brush that comes in the box, since the bristles are course and the brush is pretty wide. I like to use either my Mac 266, 208, or 210 brush with it instead, since it gives a more precise liner application, and as for the HIP brush, I'd rather use it to fill in my brows.
Well, that's about all, I will write more soon!
Thanks for reading!
